Jura is one of a series of monochrome works evoking mountain vistas. Using Lokta papers from Nepal, screenprinted with various patterns in black, the scene is stripped of color to emphasize form, texture, and depth. Deliberate minimalism turns the familiar mountain structure into a study of structure and balance, as the grid framework divides the piece into geographic forms that distort and reimagine the natural forms of the mountains.
Lokta paper, folded into origami boxes, mounted on cotton fabric, 30cm x 30cm.
